2 Tawarikh 20:9

Konteks
20:9 ‘If disaster comes on us in the form of military attack, 1  judgment, plague, or famine, we will stand in front of this temple before you, for you are present in this temple. 2  We will cry out to you for help in our distress, so that you will 3  hear and deliver us.’

2 Tawarikh 23:14

Konteks
23:14 Jehoiada the priest sent out the officers of the units of hundreds, who were in charge of the army, and ordered them, “Bring her outside the temple to the guards. 4  Put the sword to anyone who follows her.” The priest gave this order because he had decided she should not be executed in the Lord’s temple. 5

2 Tawarikh 26:18

Konteks
26:18 They confronted 6  King Uzziah and said to him, “It is not proper for you, Uzziah, to offer incense to the Lord. That is the responsibility of the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who are consecrated to offer incense. Leave the sanctuary, for you have disobeyed 7  and the Lord God will not honor you!”

2 Tawarikh 30:24

Konteks
30:24 King Hezekiah of Judah supplied 1,000 bulls and 7,000 sheep 8  for the assembly, while the officials supplied them 9  with 1,000 bulls and 10,000 sheep. Many priests consecrated themselves.

[20:9]  1 tn Heb “sword.”

[20:9]  2 tn Heb “for your name is in this house.” The “name” of the Lord sometimes designates the Lord himself, being indistinguishable from the proper name. In this case the temple is referred to as a “house” where the Lord himself can reside.

[20:9]  3 tn Or “so that you may.”

[23:14]  4 tn Heb “ranks.”

[23:14]  5 tn Heb “for the priest had said, ‘Do not put her to death in the house of the Lord.’”

[26:18]  6 tn Heb “stood against.”

[26:18]  7 tn Or “been unfaithful.”

[30:24]  8 tn The Hebrew term צֹאן (tson, translated “sheep” twice in this verse) denotes smaller livestock in general; depending on context it can refer to sheep only or goats only, but their is nothing in the immediate context here to specify one or the other.

[30:24]  9 tn Heb “the assembly.” The pronoun “them” has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons, to avoid redundancy.
